Elle Madison | 5 Month Update

Throwback to.... April 1st when our baby Elle turned 5 months old!

Just so we are all on the same page, I fully expect that our next child will be doing well to get his/her photo posted. :) So I hope Elle enjoys her baby updates one day in the future!

Lately, Elle has been kicking her pacifier, Jerry, to the curb and opting for her thumb!

Pediatrian Update: NONE! Baby Elle is getting so old (5 MONTHS), that her visits are starting to stretch out longer.

Breakfast date at Le Pain Quotidien on a rainy day.

Baby Food: We officially started baby food this past week. For now, this is more so to introduce a varieties of flavors. It is super cute and extremely messy. We've been very excited about this new phase. Elle has seemed to like everything so far... and she kept grabbing her tongue after trying prunes for the first time.

Things We Are Loving:
Elle is SOOO close to sitting up on her own and crawling (she is rolling and scooting all around, and half sits up in her bathtub). She loves to watch Veggie Tales and Big Block Sing Song (okay, we kinda like these too). Her baby babble is pretty constant and she screams loudly... and Sundae's barking got the loudest giggle from her (which I have posted on instagram)! Every night, Daddy reads a book in a different accent, which she loves. Elle also likes to bounce around in "Safari Land", her exersaucer.

At drool school, Elle has been learning a new color each week. They try to go to the park daily and "find" the color of the week. She also loves to finger paint and has been exploring a variety of textures like flowers and apples. And this is really sad, but Elle is no longer the youngest baby in her class. Growing up! :)

Praises: For the most part, we all avoided long stretches of sickness this month. Hooray!

And some of you have heard us talk about the "astronaut suit"... this magical weighted suit has successfully helped us transition to all night crib sleeping. It's not really holding her down anymore, so I think we are almost pass this phase (fingers crossed her sleeping patterns stay the same)!

Also, since I've been back at work, travel has picked up for me.Thankfully, Richard has been able to hold down the fort during those times I am away... and then when I am in town (which is most of the time), I have great flexibility. So we are making the juggle work, but it is certainly a juggle some days. :)

Elle has music class each week, and last week she got to touch the guitar! We have an identical guitar on the wall at home that she has now taken an interest in.

Ellie beans gets a kick out of grabbing daddy's (room temperature) coffee in the morning.

We are still experiencing some cold temps here in NYC, but exploring the city on the warmer days! We can't wait to have long afternoons with Elle in Central Park once the warmer weather arrives.
